How do I review a restaurant? E-mail
Tuesday, 21 July 2009 14:58
Well this question could go one of to ways, so let's cover both of them:

Meaning: What do I look for, and what should I write?

Well when you want to review a restaurant you should always be honest without direct insults. Also, don't go out to eat just to review a restaurant either, instead go out and enjoy your time. Later the pros and cons will pop right back into your head. If you are OCD, like me, then here a few things to go ahead and look for:

·  Check to make sure the place is clean. Things like sticky tables and floors can indicate the nature of its cleaning or its lack of. Look in the corners, build-ups of dirt and cobwebs are signs of of un-often the place gets cleaned.

·  Grade the server separate from the food. Grading them the same would be like grading a Cheeseburger and Spam-Burger the same. No offense to Spam! If service is bad and the food is good add that to your review. Oh; and make sure you dont get that server again.

·  Keep in mind the time. If you sit down and it takes you 20 minutes to decide on what you want then don't complain that the food took 30 minutes from the time you walked in, instead judge that from the time you order it. Now if it does take 30 minutes from the time you order it, you should have a complaint. Food should on average take 15 to 20 minutes to hit your table, but that does depend on the night, the crowd and the restaurant.

·  And finally; judge the atmosphere, because even the best tasting food isn't so good in a place that has a horrible feel to it.

Then bring your thoughts to the website and review it. If every one is saying the same thing, then it is more than likely a sub-par eatery.

Meaning: How do I get started and where do I click?

Well first and for most you have to be a registered user which is completely free. Then you need to navigate to the restaurant you want to review. So if you want to review LaMisha, you would go Restaurants and then click on L to help narrow down your selection and once you have looked through the L's and found them you will click on them to open up their page. Look towards the bottom of the page and you will see a button that says Write Review. Click on it, write your thoughts, rate it and then click Submit. It is just that easy.
