Yes, like I said Rick's Chop House didn't quite measure up. They have put themselves in a higher category steakhouse and it is my opinion that they are missing the mark.

As for Saltgrass though, I have to admit to liking it. They consistently cook their steaks right (I like mine medium rare) and they are well seasoned. Their sides and salads are good as well. Their Steak Salad and Hamburger are a good bet too.

The wait staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very laid back. Go for lunch if you would like to cut your bill down.

It's good if you don't get the steak. I have to agree with Orange5 about that. This is a huge problem for a steakhouse!

Their chicken fried steak is delicious but their fillets were pretty tasteless. Their side items are good though. If they could make a more flavorful steak then they would have it made.

This is not my favorite steakhouse, but I do enjoy it. Service is fast and friendly. My steak has always been perfectly cooked and well-seasoned.

Great Food, Good Service, Could have paid half of what we did for the same type of food, and probably a better steak at Texas Roadhouse.
We just went at the end of June for son's birthday. Fed two kids and three adults for well over a benjy. And that was with one adult being a lunch portion. (that was very nice of them allowing me to get lunch sized chicken fried steak. There was just no WAY I could eat a plate sized CFK.) Hubby had some kind of steak, son had chicken fried chicken (loved it), bday boy had ribs (devoured them) other kid had chicken tenders (looked a bit overcooked), and my CFK was the usual goodness of saltgrass. (I do prefer roadhouses seasonings - it's more homecooking flavors and textures) But it was a great meal all in all. Just wish it wouldn't have cost so dag gum much.

I have gone a couple of times and my food has been very good, the place was clean and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely go back.

I have been there a total of 3-4 times. The steaks I have gotten are never that great. Their salads are good but their Bread Pudding is AWESOME!!!
