"WHICH WICH DO YOU WANT?” E-mail

Is the question that hangs on the wall when you walk in. Easy enough! That's the concept of this quirky little sandwich shop, where you can choose from more than 50 tasty combinations, most bargain priced under $5. We could all buy bread, and slap some meat and cheese in the middle of it, yet millions are spent every year at sandwich shops. What is America's infatuation with the sandwich? Which Wich is one of the newest to join the sandwich phenomenon and is making it's mark in Texas, including McKinney with 3 locations.

With it's bright- minimalistic look, the place is clean and shiny, with poured concrete floors and snaking ductwork, the walls are decorated with yellow and black pictograms. Tables and chairs are IKEA-style, while newspapers hang from clothes-line-like wires. All in all, it’s a happy vibe that translates to the energetic and efficient counter and sandwich creation staff. There's a black and white printed menu. But the interactive system is set in motion when you select one of the dozen brown paper bags that represent sandwich categories, including the standard turkey, ham, and “classics”, and the specialty lines such as beef, comfort and seafood. You make your choices on the bag with a red marker, choose a white or wheat sub roll, select a cheese, and a host of free add-ons, spreads and sauces, and veggies. Your bag is returned to you at the pickup counter filled with your fresh creation, which is toasted, wrapped in wax paper and foil, and cut in half for easy handling. The custom-made sandwich that gives fast food a good name. I enjoy the Club with Spicy Mayo. We also enjoy the crunchy-fresh house ripple chips with salt and pepper, and my summer favorite is the pineapple shake made to order with hand-dipped ice cream and milk. Glad to have you Which Wich and we hope you are here for years to come.
