Baked French Vegetable Casserole
So... what makes these vegetables "French"???

16-20 tiny white onions
24-30 sm. potato cubes
2 C. thin carrot strips
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 lb. butter
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 cloves garlic
Combine vegetables in greased earthen casserole with
Sprinkle with cloves, salt and pepper.
Melt butter in pan, add lemon juice, sugar, and minced garlic.
Pour over vegetables and cover.
Bake in 325 oven for about 1 hr.
Remove lid, stir carefully, then bake uncovered until top is brown and potatoes and onions are well done.
Baste occasionally with juices.
This can stand awhile before serving. Keep warm.
