Janie's Fruit Salad

A.K.A. "Heavenly Hash!



  • 2 C. cherries

  • 2 C. mandarin oranges

  • 2 C. pineapple chunks

  • 2 C. quartered marshmallows

  • 1/4 lb. almonds, blanched and chopped

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 C. sour cream

  • 1 C. heavy cream, whipped

  • 2 T. sugar

  • juice of 1 lemon


Combine drained fruit, add marshmallows and nuts.

Dressing: Beat eggs until light, gradually add sugar, sour cream, and lemon juice. Mix and cook in double boiler until thick, stirring constantly. Cool, fold in whipped cream and pour over fruit.

Mix lightly and chill for 24 hours.
