Cherry Pie

With Pinwheel Lattice

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 C. cherry juice

  • 1/2 C. sugar

  • 3 T. flour

  • 1/8 tsp. salt

  • 2 T. butter

  • Almond extract (optional)

  • 2 C. pitted cherries

  • 1 - 8" pie crust, plus extra crust for pinwheel lattice


Preparation:

  • Pre-heat oven to 450.

  • Combine juice, flour, sugar, and salt;

  • Cook until thick.

  • Add butter (and a few drops almond if desired) and pour over cherries in 8" pie crust.

  • Make twisted lattice top crust; flute edge.

  • Bake in 450 oven for 10 min. and then in 350 for about 30 min.
