Lunchbox Cookies

From Mrs. Olsen (Hunter's maid, Williamstown 1958)

The childhood classic... so simple... so good!

Ingredients:

• 1 stick butter, softened

• 1 C. brown sugar

• 1 C. flour

• 1/2 tsp. salt

• 1/4 tsp. baking soda

• 1 tsp. vanilla

• 1/2 C. ground nuts

• 1 egg, unbeaten

Preparation:

• Mix all ingredients well.

• Drop in 2" balls, 2" apart, on greased baking sheet.

• Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes

• Remove from sheet while hot.
